First posts are always so awkward, and I should know. I've started and stopped, I don't know, upwards of 10 blogs? Something like that. And I currently post fannish stuff to DW/IJ/LJ, but lately it hasn't seemed like enough, and so here I am. We'll see if this actually goes anywhere, or if it suffers the ignominious fate of all the others.

And since I've spent the better part of the morning futzing around with the layout (and isn't it pretty??), I now have two hungry, increasingly alienated children to feed. One - the Girl (7) - has been very good about the wait. In general, she is, her neurotic tendencies notwithstanding. The other - the Boy (4 - although I keep forgetting his age) - has been less so: cranky, frustrated, and good at making it known. On the plus side, he only eats peanut butter and honey sandwiches for lunch during the summer (NEVER the school year; his preschool is a peanut-free zone, which fact I have had to remind myself of by writing "NOT FOR PRESCHOOL" on the lid of the PB jar...and, even with that, I managed to thoughtlessly send a PB&H sandwich to school last year. Which, to date, he has not let me forget about).

So, the Deep Thoughts will have to come later. And they'll come...oh, they'll come.
